Mapping claim clusters in Vietnamese skincare without inventing a slogan

21 January 2026 · claims, skincare

Claim language on skincare shelves clusters faster than many brand calendars admit. Calm, barrier, glow, and pore stories often occupy the same facing metre with only small wording differences.

A useful map starts with publicly visible packs and retail pages—not with internal brand books. Group claims by the job they promise, not by ingredient names. Ingredient lists change; the promised job is what shoppers compare.

Count how many banners already carry each cluster in your subcategory. Crowding does not forbid entry, but it raises the cost of being heard. Empty clusters near a texture your lab already owns are more actionable than inventing a fifth calm-skin phrase.

End the mapping exercise with a decision rule: which cluster you will occupy, which you will avoid, and which proof cue (texture, ritual step, or visible result) will carry the distinction. Without that rule, agency briefs drift back to familiar adjectives.
